Smiths 'Flight' Speedo:

(C) Circumference = Mark the tyre, roll the car forward exactly one wheel revolution and measure the distance

(WM) Wheel revs per mile = 63360 / circumference in inches

(C#) Calibration Number (pulses per mile) = wheel revs per mile/km * diff ratio * number of magnets/bolts

C = 70.25" (unloaded tyre - needs re-checking with the car weight on it)
WM = 63360 / 70.25 = 901.92

C# = 901.92 * 3.62 * 4 = 13,060 (013021 advised by GBS = 70.46" diameter)

Set Calibration:

  1. Press speedo button while turning on the ignition
  2. Release buton before needle returns to Zero - 'SET PPU' shown
  3. Release button after needle returns to Zero - 'DTS PPU' shown
  4. Press button to toggle mode - SET/DTS
'SET PPU' Mode - Manually input the number
  1. Press button for 2-3 seconds - current calibration number is shown
  2. Digits flash in turn for 2 seconds each
  3. Press button to increment flashing digit
  4. When all digits are set the whole number will flash - press button to finish
  5. 'DONE' displayed
  6. After 3 seconds 'SET PPU' displayed - setting is complete

'DTS PPU' Mode - Drive to set (& check sensor position)
  1. Press button for 2-3 seconds - display will show '*00000'
  2. Drive exactly one mile at constant speed - odometer will count the pulses
  3. Press button for 2-3 seconds - 'DONE' displayed
  4. After 3 seconds 'SET PPU' displayed - setting is complete
  5. Turn off the ignition
